Welcome

Welcome to the Zork Library, one of the last few remaining sources of Zork information on the Internet. Pull up a chair and explore the library! Don't get eaten by a grue!

News

April 2, 2020 - One of our contributors, Lord Skylark, uploaded some final revisions to his work on the Zork Compendium. Beyond that, I fixed up some links and removed other broken links here and there. Not much is happening these days in the world of Zork, unfortunately, so this will likely be the last update for a while again. If you find something good, share it on our subreddit!

Our Zork Installation Guides Have Been Revamped

November 4, 2016 - Our Zork game installation guides have been revamped. We now focus on the use of ScummVM for the graphical games since it is the simplest and best supported option. We also cleaned up the info on the interactive fiction games and other ways to play. It should be easier to digest all the info now.

October 30, 2015 - We now have new guides for using the support in ScummVM's daily builds for playing Zork Nemesis and Zork Grand Inquisitor. This is probably the best method yet for playing these games on modern computers.

November 16, 2014 - I completed the initial work of converting the "Zork Files & Info" section from forum posts to web pages. The new additions are for Beyond Zork/Zork Zero, Enchanter/Sorcerer/Spellbreaker/Wishbringer and a combination of the other miscellaneous posts into one page. I'll clean up the pages and expand upon them a bit in the future.

October 6, 2014 - The Zork Compendium is on hold. Andy, the author of the compendium, has decided to stop working on it so he can reprioritize things in his life. We wish him well! Also, I've taken the time to begin the process of converting the "Zork Files & Info" section from forum posts to web pages and clean them up a bit in the process. This has so far been done with Zork I, II, II, Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis, Zork Grand Inquisitor and Zork: The Undiscovered Underground. More to come soon!
