Re: DNS - server downtime

I'm not sure there is another way, if you mean the in game histories and backstories. There is some good canon stuff in the original packaging of the text games, but most of that can be found on other sites in some form. A whole lot it is covered in the Z:GI guide history. Some of it is rather dubio...

Re: DNS - server downtime

I was happy to be able to get back in! I didn't think the site was gone for good this time. lol. Though I worried how long my computer wouldn't be able to access it even after it came back. The screenshots make for a nice background for the site. I can't play the graphical Zorks on my laptop. (And m...

Re: TZL updated, "a little"

Everything seems to be running smoothly... I like the line about feeding the Grues. :D (Which is either new or I haven't been paying attention.)

Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

Speaking of the Librarian movies, I just spotted this. From an interview with the executive producer, Dean Devlin: ** Dean Devlin: Next up we're going to do a big science fiction film called Isobar. We're hoping to start shooting that this summer. Then after that we will do the third episode of The ...

Re: Great discovery for Neverwinter Nights! (on to

I finished the module last night. I loved it. The fight with the thief was tougher than in the original. After all, all you had to do in the text game was type 'attack thief' when the time came and that was that. I had to raise Acacia's (a Half-Elf Paladin.) level by 5 to make it work. I liked some ...

Re: Great discovery for Neverwinter Nights! (on to

I bought and installed the game and all the add-ons last night. Right now I'm wandering around underground and getting the feel of the game. It is cool to be able to play Acacia- my 2nd DM- 'in the flesh,' so to speak. I'll add her actual picture as soon as I figure out how everything works. I've ha...

Re: Great discovery for Neverwinter Nights! (on to

That is awesome! I don't have the game, but I'll look into getting it for the chance to play a 'new' Zork. The graphics look pretty good, too.

Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

LOL! I think I remember trying to kill the thief with the torch. And yes, that IS what should happen. I suppose it wouldn't be as dramatic as the fight with the sword. But a torch should certainly be a deadly weapon! The first movie's novelization has even more funny moments than the movie itself. I...

Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

I just finished watching it a few minutes ago. There are some very amusing Zorkish moments. I half expected the vampire bats to carry Flynn away. :) And the Casablanca line! Ha! I want a screenshot of Flynn next to the lanterns. Flynn would make a great DM. He reminded me more of my 1st DM Mylon in ...

Thank you! That doesn't look too complicated to start with. I have the code saved to work on later. I'll be back for more info soon. :)

Re: The forgotten sequel

Thanks for the info! I looked around at those sites. It does not look too complicated to learn. I would be interested in seeing the sample code, too.

I'll hope to start working on this around the first of the year.

Re: Zork fanart

Here is a commission I had done from the Enchanter trilogy prequel short story that I might try to turn into a mini game. http://tinyurl.com/ybro8y This depicts my young Enchanter trilogy PC, Chrys attempting to 'borrow' a magic book from the Anthar Enchanter's Guild. Those roses are poisonous and h...

Re: The forgotten sequel

Thank you for the ideas, Dr. Paul. I imagined it as a story first, then a text game and only recently as a graphic game. It would be just as pleasing for me to write it as a text game. Do you have any recommendations as to a site with basic Inform programming instructions for utter beginners? I have...
