Well I built a new pc, I had to have something to play HL2 on hehe and a few others.

Antec Super Lan Boy Aluminum Case
Thermaltake 480W Silent Pure Power PSU
Abit i915P Motherboard
Intel LGA775 540 3.2ghz HT CPU
Corsair 2x512MB Dual Channel DDR400 Memory
Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 SATA150 80GB HDD
Lite-On 8x Dual Layer DVD-R/+R Burner
Chaintech GeForce 6600GT 128MB DDR3 PCIE
On Board: NIC, Intel HiDef 5.1 Audio with Optical in/out, 4x USB, 1x 1394

I still need to buy a new TV Tuner.

I have been looking into water cooling, but after trying one that didn't work so well, I realized that in order to get a good one, you'll need to spend about $200 and make sure its got a good pump and radiator.

In Doom3 on Ultra High @ 1024x768 NO FSAA, everything else on, I get ~44fps

It idles around 42c using stock cooler and arctic silver 5 paste.

That really is infinitely excellent. If I had a bit more money to throw around I'd upgrade mine too, but I can't afford much of anything right now. Nice specs.

only a GF2? ouch thats what this server now uses lol. Look at my specs. above and that should give you an idea of what you will need to get quality graphics from the latest games. A 6800 would help but without matching RAM or CPU its kinda pointless.

Finally added a water cooling unit to my PC, its the Thermaltake Big Water 12cm, I got it at Frys for $150, works pretty good, I get about the same idle as I in the winter, its a little cooler outside than a typical summer day, around 77F, but its pretty good. I have the fan RPM for the PSU and the Radiator at 1800rpm, its practically impossible to hear and the pump although it claims to be 20dBa, it doesnt seem like it to me, in fact I can't hear it at all inches from my ear... so id say its pretty much a totally silent setup with equal cooling during the summer months as I used to get in the winter with the stock cpu cooler. The good thing is that I no longer hear my jet engine cpu cooler speeding up and slowing down constantly when I play games.

In fact right this moment just doing a little internet the CPU is at 42C/108F and its 90F outside... So id say it works pretty well. When I O/C my CPU up 300mhz to 3.5ghz and my ram up 40mhz to 440mhz, my temps went up 4C in idle although under load it went up 10C over the non O/C load.

I have upgraded since then.
-Lite-On 16x Dual Layer DVD-R/+R Burner (the original was failing)
-Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS (ASIO drivers for music production)
-eVGA GeForce 7800GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E

still running like a champ! My CPU on idle is 42C, my GPU on idle is 50C.

Actually some months ago there was a BIOS update... turns out it was outputting incorrect core temps. Turns out my PC with the watercooling is idling around 30C. Under load its usually around 39C.

Hi..
I would admire that Just do a little Internet ... So that it works quite well. I do not, in fact, I can not feel at all in my ear inches ... so id say its almost completely silent installation of a cooling in the summer I used to get in the winter with the stock CPU cooler.
