Need help with Zork I!

I was following a tutorial, and I suddenly realised that I accidentaly dropped the rope, needed for the temple area, and I don't remember where it was! Now, even if I return to the attic, there's no rope in there! Is there a way of getting another rope?

I can't remember what p-art of the game you're in but if you haven't killed the thief yet you could always go chech his stash and see if he doesn't have any spare ropes lying around! ;v)
