Petition Update

Okay everyone, Stephen Granade of http://brasslantern.org agreed to put a mention of the petition on the news section of the brass lantern website (for those of you who don't yet know, brasslantern.org is one of the major hubs of adventure gaming news and things).  While he didn't put up a huge feature article about it, it's nice that he put up something that, I'm sorry to say, probably isn't really news (I mean really, this is about the sixth petition.)

However, on another note, there are over 120 signatures (though admittedly some are repeats) for the petition, which is, frankly, more succesful than I thought it would be by this point.  For those of you who might not have signed yet, the URL is something like http://www.petitiononline.org/zg15/petition, or something.  I can't remember the exact URL at the moment.  However, a direct link to it is at the beginning of my h2g2 page at http://www.h2g2.com/U99500 for those who don't mind being gooey or alabaster.

Anyway, just thought that I'd tell everyone about the current progress of the Zork petition.

I'd also like to say, however, that petitions alone are rarely succesful.  So that everyone knows, 1000 names on a petition are approximately equal to one letter being sent to someone in a position of power.  All I'm saying is that if you're really interested, please take the time to contact some people at Activision.  It probably wouldn't need to be much.  Maybe even an email to someone at http://www.activision.com would work.  But if you can find a way to contact some of these people, please do so.

You've gotta expect that kind of thing, though.  A lot of people won't sign petitions for things they don't feel fairly good about, and Zork's following isn't exactly the biggest on the market at the moment, unfortunately.
