Re: ZGI cigar box logo

I tried, but I'm not sure how to get a screen capture from the movie.

I'll look around the game some more.

Re: ZGI cigar box logo

Good questions.  Now that I look at it, I don't think it's a dagger.  Looks like a spike or a hammer.  And the palm of the hand is lit up, as if grasping a fireball or something.  Maybe grasping magic, as if to contain it within an "iron fist."

Re: ZGI cigar box logo

OK, I found the symbol elsewhere in ZGI.  It's on the flags in front of Frobozz Electric: http://www.casco.net/~preddym/fbe.JPG It's also on flags flying behind the Inquisitor during his speeches in the introductory movie.  So it seems to be the moniker of Mir Yannick and of Frobozz Electric.  Which...

Re: ZGI cigar box logo

I still see the fist and the dagger.  The hand is not "around" the dagger --- the dagger is pointed down into the knuckles.  I've traced the fist in red and the dagger in green.  The fist is the right hand, laying on its side.

I have seen this somewhere.

Re: ZGI cigar box logo

I see a clenched fist, pointed right to left, with a dagger blade going through it or behind it, left to right. The wall hangings and symbols throughout ZN have hidden meaning, so I just know this cigar box logo in ZGI is telling us something. DataAngel, I suspect if it is connected to the Flatheads...

ZGI cigar box logo

Anyone have any theories what the cigar box logo in Antharia Jack's shop represents?

Re: About the Awful Abtruse AFGNCAAP

Who else?  The main character is -- me.  This successful immersion of the Self into the Zork world sets it apart.

IMHO, of course.

Re: TZL reaches 50,000 page views!!!

Nice.  I will be a fan of Zork until the day I die.

Yeah, I've played a ton of games from every genre, modern games, MMORPGs, graphical wonders, etc.

None has topped the joy I got from Zork.

The immersion, the story, the nostalgia.

It's like your first love.  You never forget.

Re: Zork Nemesis - too speedy!

Yes, the utility I used was CPU Killer.  I also tried the double-click trick to no avail.  Playing Nemesis on a 2.4 GHz has been a bit of an exercise. :) Shame on the programmers for not writing a timed game loop for these animated sequences.  Then again they probably never anticipated this cult f...

Re: Zork Nemesis - too speedy!

I actually considered this, using an old dinosaur I've got stuffed in the back of the closet.  Instead, ended up using a CPU basher utility I found that works the CPU so hard the game is slowed considerably (at the expensive of heating up the CPU!).  I did this just long enough to jump off that bles...
