Re: 'Adventure' birthday party
Five years ago, I constructed a murder mystery party for my daughter's 12th birthday. Â The game was designed to be very similar to playing an adventure game in real life. Â - Hidden clues, puzzles, inventory, etc. Some of the clues are pretty sophisticated. Â Using braile, chemistry, ultraviolet l...

Re: 'Adventure' birthday party
I doubt it will help much, but when I was younger my dad did something similar for me for Christmas, without announcing it. Â I opened what I thought was my last present, which was a Brass Lantern that he had converted to be battery-powered (yes, I still have it). Â In the box he included a hand-dr...

Re: 'Adventure' birthday party
Those birthday parties sound great. I never had an awesome birthday party like that. *sniff* Â How about hidden spell scrolls? Perhaps one of them might need to go through a 'spell lab' like in Z:GI. Or have them 'buy and sell' magical objects like in Beyond Zork. Zork Zero's Snarfem or the puzzle...

'Adventure' birthday party
Okay - At the risk of throwing myself out there as a TOTAL and COMPLETE dork (well, my 20-something kids tell me I am just that), I am in the wee early planning stages for my fifth kid's 7th birthday party. Â I am trying to plan an IF Adventure party for him. Â He LOVES to play Zork - or his version...

Wow - too much for one sitting - but I will have to come back and finish that one. How cool.
Makes one wonder what else is out there waiting to be 'discovered'.

Re: Zorkmid Coin
I'm wondering if the zorkmid was ever bought/sold??
I noticed one up on ebay - at the current going price of about $150 with three days to go.
Of course there is the rest of the game/manuals, etc... but let's be honest - that auction is all about the coin.

I hadn't seen that one - loved the 'xyzzy' page - especially the note about the satellite command.

Re: alive and well... tired
So what was going on with TZL for the last few days? I couldn't get on the site, and was actually starting to panic just a tiny little bit... well, not really panic per say... well, okay - a little panic. But I am happy to see things up and running again on these nearly silent boards.

Adventure history and photos
Hey all. It's been a LONG time since I have posted here. But I found an interesting site while perusing some 'stuff' tonight. Wondered if anyone had seen this before: http://www.digitalhumanities.org/dhq/vol/001/2/000009.html There is a history of Adventure (the first computer game I ever played ...

Re: Finally! A new Zork game. Â TAP is here.
It's been ages since I logged in here. But I am thrilled to see the final text version up and online. I haven't gone back and played since the beta testing, but I have a brand new computer up and running, and I probably will just have to play it again! I now have a new dual processor and decend gr...

Re: Need beta-testers for TAP
I know I'm late in replying to this post as I haven't been on the board in quite a long while (personal stuff...blah, blah, blah...) BUT I did post quite some time ago that I was chomping at the bit to be a beta tester for this game! So...if you still need someone - PLEASE!!! Let me!! Pant, pant...
