Re: Zork: The Hidden Evil

I just don't consider appropriate the fact that he says "finish school"...  Did he somehow assumed I didn't finish school and that there was something wrong with my question?  Ok, maybe I am being a little oversensitive here, but it sounded sarcastic at some point. Or is that a standard an...

Re: Return To Zork variations...

oh.... some people think that Return To Zork looks so primitive compared to Nemesis and Inquisitor.  That's because you never played the Mac version.  Although the digital music is gone (mostly replaced by midi music) the game graphics are outstanding in the Mac vers. I should know I have them all. ...

Return To Zork variations...

I was just playing the various RTZ games I have.  I happen to have 3 versions (played three versions).  There are some interesting facts about them. In the floppy disk version the game is absolutely dull.  Graphics are really no good.  The music is also crummy. In the CD DOS version, the CD plays Au...

Re: Zork: The Hidden Evil

Our recommendation for a job in the gaming industry is to finish school, learn about programming, computers, computer graphics, video game design, etc. and then get a job with a game development or publishing company. I dont get it.  A comment like that its insulting, I did go to college, for a yea...

Re: Zork: The Hidden Evil

Then I could also supply the letter I wrote to Activision.  As a matter of fact I will and the reply is at the bottom, BTW the reply was so insulting I think I wish they's sell the rights to the Zork games to another company.   >:( Customer - 01/24/2005 11:15 PM Activision:  Can you please, please, ...

Re: Zork: The Hidden Evil

Ok, I happened to be looking for Zork info and happened to find the website of one of Zork Nemesis graphic artists, now please I beg any of you to use this only as reference, since I believe that she helped me with all good intentions. That means don't flood this person's website for requests about ...

Re: rtz help!

Yeah, the sound is a real problem.  You probably want to try getting a program like VDMSound or DOSBox to get the sound working.  I got it to work once, but haven't been able to since. This thread is long old.  But I had the same problem with my PC before I could get it to work.  The person didn't ...

(Though, I didn't realize that the phone in hades and the instructions for making the spell could be simplified, and thus, bypassed. Silly me, logic puzzles are some of my favorite. :) )

Re: The BEST graphical Zork game ever (?)

I like all of them, but they are all very different games. In RTZ you had to use many items with others, interacting with objects was very important for the game play.  It was in a small "town" the passages and roads were very similar to what the original game (ZORK 1) was about.  You had ...

The BEST graphical Zork game ever (?)

The poll is self explanatory. This is the basic idea, do you like: Return To Zork - because it resembles the original text based games more than any of the sequels, also the inventory is so much easier to use....  Wow, had you ever seen a spider that scary before?  I got introduced to this game in 1...

I just through of something, if you're playing the very old DOS version, you might need to use DOS commands :( I am sorry I really can't help with that :(
