Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

Ah--in case anyone missed The Librarian 2 (like I almost did!), I just recently noticed that you can rent it on video already.

Working on Zork 2? My favorite installment! I may end up having to get this game when that happens...

Re: Great discovery for Neverwinter Nights! (on to

I'm unfamiliar with NWN, but Zork 1 looks pretty cool.
I wonder if those creatures in the first screenshot are supposed to be grues...heh, I always imagined a grue to look like a giant, shaggy wig with eyes and sharp teeth.

Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

Looked up the graphic novel and found some of the art--a funner looking style would have been more fitting. Heh, maybe I could draw my own cover art for it sometime.

Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

There, I got around to watching it! I knew it hadn't lost the fun of the first movie when I saw the part with the self-playing panpipes. I loved those for some reason. And though the most he appeared was when Flynn and Emily were nearly totemized--I mean otherwise killed in the end, Eric Avari did m...

Re: Malveaux (from Nemesis) sighting

I'm recording it for when I have more time, but I can't wait to see it. The newspaper gave it one of the most mixed reviews I've ever seen, but sometimes they have no sense of fun!

Oh, and I read that there's a jeweled skull in the beginning of the movie--very Zork 1.

Re: Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson!!

You might want to add a slot for a possible composer to the list along with the directors--I'm a soundtrack freak. :)

I'll be sure to look into this book; from the sound of you, it must be good!

Re: The forgotten sequel

Yep.
I think I'll test the things you showed us in a short game, which I just might try and figure out how to post here.

Re: The forgotten sequel

I think I'll download that myself...I've wanted to try writing one of those for a while. One question, though: At the beginning of the game, it usually starts with an introduction of some sort rather than taking you immediately to the first room. Same thing with the end of the game, and if, perhaps,...

Re: Zork fanart

One of the reasons I enjoy the Zork series is that they are often very like to my sense of humor. :)

Re: Zork fanart

Lately I've been experimenting in my spare time with how to make an image appear to be from older games. ZGI is a fairly recent style, but I thought some absurd warning labels were missing from the totemizer (yes, that means I have given in and played ZGI before I had planned to; I was just too anxi...

Re: The forgotten sequel

Awesome idea. In fact...I've been trying to find the time to shorten my own crazily "ambitious" storyline so it would fit in a single post(!). I wonder if it would be significantly more difficult than just a plain text game to include the occasional non-animated, simple graphic in, say, th...

Re: The forgotten sequel

I knew to expect a whole story from you! I may well write down the story I myself have been mulling over later, though "story" isn't quite the word--it's only the beginning of one, more of a premise, but still something.

The forgotten sequel

No, this is not a topic about Activision coming out with a sequel to ZGI, because, as far as we know, they aren't. Sorry. But it is about a hypothetical one--better than nothing! If, one fine day in a world with no copyright laws, you got so tired of wondering if they were going to do it that you de...
