Infocom's lost network drive - found

If you are an Infocom fan (the original implementers of Zork) something amazing has just surfaced on the Internet.

It's new.  Only been up since April.  Here's the link:

http://waxy.org/2008/04/milliways_infoc ... ndex.shtml

And here's the lead in on the first page:
From an anonymous source close to the company, I've found myself in possession of the "Infocom Drive" — a complete backup of Infocom's shared network drive from 1989. This is one of the most amazing archives I've ever seen, a treasure chest documenting the rise and fall of the legendary interactive fiction game company. Among the assets included: design documents, email archives, employee phone numbers, sales figures, internal meeting notes, corporate newsletters, and the source code and game files for every released and unreleased game Infocom made.
It's a VERY long read, but has tons of interesting stuff from way back when.

Wow - too much for one sitting - but I will have to come back and finish that one.  How cool.

Makes one wonder what else is out there waiting to be 'discovered'.

I was going to post but I thought I was likely the last to know. (I found it last week.)

Talk about the Holy Grail! If I were privileged enough to get hold of that I wouldn't have posted the emails but I couldn't tear myself away from reading all of it.

Even better was reading the comments from many of the imps. The story of the game showed that frustrations cropped up just like they do in any business, but their attitudes toward this bit of 'ancient history' showed them to be every bit as awesome as I always thought they were. It's also pretty amazing how many comments there are from fans who found their way to the thread. It took me a long time to read it all (and all the comments), but it was well worth it!

Siriusstar,
Sorry I scooped you on the post.

The thing that led me to discover it was Zorket's comment about the XYZZY page.  That got me to thinking that I hadn't visited the XYZZY News page in a while http://www.xyzzynews.com, and low and behold, it was the top news item on the page.

Do you recall how you happened to discover it?

I discovered the post when it was linked to on the JustAdventure forum last weekend. Things were winding down by then so I thought I was 'late to the party' as usual. lol.
