I realize that, but it was meant to spur thoughts...

I like the idea of a simple "Find The Treasures" series of games.  People may demand plot, but that's easy if you just say that the character heard a rumor of treasure, or something.

Methinks I'll start getting into the fan-fic biz.  I've got an idea for a series of games, but I think it'd be better as a story, really.

I think that I will start writing some fanfics, too.  I seem to have really regained my interest in Zork.  Too bad there aren't any new games, though.

There's still a fan-based Zork-style game that I've not beaten yet.  I can't remember the entire name, but it was something like "The meteorite, the (something), and a long glass of sherbert."  It doesn't fit in the Zork universe, but it's implied that it's connected to Zork somehow.

I remember that one.  It was pretty fun, and had some Zork references in it.

Umm...  Sherbet is kind of like ice cream (Don't know if you were joking or didn't know).

And sadly, my sister also likes Jar Jar.  And she is older than me.  Bleh.

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit odd that a discussion of "Zork is still going" has turned into sherbert?  That has got to be a spell.....

That's just good ol' topic drift, folks!  Happens all the time.;-)

Speaking of Zork games, which I believe we were at some point earlier in this conversation, does anyone know exactly the steps to take to program one with inform?  I get that you need to write out the coding, I've even looked into programming the coding and things, but how do you actually go about making the .z5 or .z8 files?  Anyone know?

you probably write it in basic and then convert it or add a few lines of code and rename the file, although I don't really know, thats just my guess.

I've already tried stuff like that.  It's not written in BASIC, I've seen the coding for games before.  I'm just trying to figure out how the last touches are done.
