trouble saving zork 1

Need to sharpen your sword? Or perhaps your lantern ran out of fuel? Well come on in, drink some rye and let Jack sharpen your blade and fill that lantern!

trouble saving zork 1

Post by Cannonchick »

hello,
let me begin by saying i am no computer guru...
i downloaded zork 1 but when i try to save the game, it says "unable to access file, failed." I am trying to save the game to my I: drive.
Also, every time i start up the game, a have to unzip the file.
lastly, what is the best way to exit the game?
thanks for any input!

lol,

Well, if you unzip the archive to your hdd then you will be able to play properly. As for saving the game, i dont know what your I: drive is, but make sure you aren't using a CD drive or something which does not allow you to write files to. The files are rather small, you might want to try saving it like normal to the default location and see if that works.

my I: drive is a SDD card. Do you think that's why I cant save to it? I tried saving to the default location, which seems to work unless I close the game and reopen it.

I can't save my Game. I'm using the Default File but I keep getting the Failed to Access File error message. What am I doing wrong? The Save Game file is in the Save Directory of my Zork 1 Folder ...

*Edit* Never mind, I found a way to save. Thanks anyway!
