Mushroom people are small little fungi that are generally friendly, but are easily mistakeningly stepped upon by larger creatures. Many of these swift-moving mushrooms live in the Forest of the Spirits and are friends of the Tree Spirit there, who sent them on a quest to find a human man for her.
In 1647 GUE, the mushroom people, after finding the unknown Sweepstakes Winner to be kind-hearted and merciful towards them, were able to guide him through the Forest of the Spirits to the Tree Spirit by arranging their bodies into "arrows" to point the direction of needed travel as they marched along the forest floor.
