The whip-weed is a small green animal with poisonous fingers which imitate plants to lure their unsuspecting victims colors. Seen from afar as a simple carpet of harmless plants that sway slowly from side to side in breezeless caverns, a colony will continue to gently ripple until the ignorant adventurer has waded far enough into the patch. Once at the center, the whip-weeds erupt about their prey--pulling their "roots" from the ground and wrapping their poison-filled stingers around unfortunate adventurers.
