Re: Problem with activating account
If you are posting in the forum, then your account has been activated. I do not know what that link is for, it was probably to activate the account. Glad to have a new member! Enjoy!

Re: Zork: Nemesis problem
So, it helped following the how-to properly?
Glad to hear you got it working! And good luck with the scrolling as I mentioned in the how-to there is no fix. The only TRUE way to fix it, would be to underclock your CPU to a 500mhz which is not possible.

Re: Zork: Nemesis problem
Is the file in '\zassets\global' ? by manual install, you do mean copying the files from the disc correct? and not running the installer? Hmm, I am having trouble with this... I honestly do not know... if you copy all the files and modify the zix file, nemesis should run at that point. List your exa...

Re: Zork: Nemesis problem
I do not have that file in my install or my how-to, my advice is to double check your discs for the file... an alternative that may have some interesting graphical side effects could be to just take any of the .tga files off the disc(preferably a small one) copy it to where the game says it cant be ...

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor's ongoing battle with Win XP
When you run setup.exe you will have the option to choose the install directory/location that is when you use c:\ZGI_CD. then you would copy the asset folders directly there from the discs and make sure you are using the hdd zix file or use the cd zix file and dont copy the asset folders, its that s...

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor's ongoing battle with Win XP
There is a tab below the reply window that says 'Upload attachment' you can use this for your files. As for installation, yes install the game to ZGI_CD but all of the files etc. that appear in that folder are as they are meant to be. You should not be renaming any folders or files after installatio...

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor's ongoing battle with Win XP
I am very glad it worked out for you, you don't know how many hours I spent writing it the first time and then the hours spent revising it recently and then moving into the forums. ::) I am not sure why there would be files outside the installation folder unless they were temp files and were removed...

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor's ongoing battle with Win XP
I do not know anything about Kevin Bakers walkthroughs, I have not used nor tested them, they are almost identical to mine... there is only one way to get the game to play more or less. I don't know about running 'zgi.cmd' No, the reason for the howto is because you must manually edit and copy the f...

Re: Zork Grand Inquisitor's ongoing battle with Win XP
The walkthrough should have worked, I would also take a look at the one I have here on my site, its basically the same thing though... but it sounds like you didnt edit the ZIX files... and its unable to find the disc/drive. Either make sure you follow my how to and use the correct ZIX modification ...

I don't have a specific standard worked out, so just try to keep it organized and the grading to A,B,C,D,F(+...

Re: The castle in GI
Wow... quite a lot of stuff cut, what a bummer. May I ask how you came across this information? Obviously there are always things that get cut from a game, but it is very interesting to hear about what didnt make it in.
