Re: ZGI and nemesis problems under XP.
I used to have a problem exactly like this with Win2000 or Win ME whe I would run Nemesis on my laptop. The problem occured whenever I tried to play without the floppy drive in the smart-bay. Usually I would have a Zip drive instead of the floppy drive. But if I removed the Zip drive and replaced...
Re: Petition
Gosh. All this time and only 1000 signatures? It's better if ActiVision doesn't see it. That would discourage them. In order to get 10,000+ names, it will require an *active* effort to get them. Maybe even standing on street corners or going door-to-door and asking strangers to sign. That's the...

Re: Zork - The Coming of the Storm
I put your story on my Palm Pilot and read it in bed. I was quite impressed with your writing skills. The story seems to have a pretty dark mood, like Nemesis did. I'm always a little conflicted on that point because I usually expect a little humor in Zork games or stories. But on the other han...

Re: Total Game Immersion!
Speaking of total immersion, have any of you guys ever played the Tex Murphy game Pandora Directive? That game is on 6 CDs, has full-motion video, wonderful characters, and a real-time 3D environment that lets you go anywhere you want. The game engine is a litle like the 1st-person shooter games b...

Nemesis,
Since you sort of asked, I emailed you a PDF file summary of our game.

Re: A real-live adventure game
DAT, Yes. As you say, the fun is definitely in the searching. Although the clues are in sight, they are in sight in the way they are in Nemesis or Grand Inquisitor. First of all, the green dots that distinguish 'active' items from scenery are not so easy to see. The kids had a hard time finding...

Re: A real-live adventure game
Well, we had 16 twelve-year-old kids at the party, so we needed to spread it out a bit to keep them from tripping over each other. But a party with 6 or 8 adults could be really fun in a cozier environment

A real-live adventure game
Saturday night (Nov.1) was the culmination of a project I've been working on for about a month which I think you all will find interesting. For about the past month, my daughter and I wrote and then hosted a murder mystery party. But unlike the murder mystery parties you have probably heard about, t...

Re: Not as pissed as before, but still really piss
It's not a sequel, but there's a guy on the r.a.i.f newsgroup that says he has been negotiating with activision to re-release the Lost Treasures of Infocom. All the games except HG2G and one other title which I can't remember. Anyway, he says that Activision wants $70,000 to purchase the rights to ...

Re: Not as pissed as before, but still really piss
A short thread regarding a new Zork 4 game by Activision appeared on the r.g.i.f newsgroup again this week. Here is a link to the thread in googlegroups http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=Xns93BFEBE35E244trumgottistbigfootco%40130.133.1.4&prev=/groups%...

Gosh. Sorry for the multiple posts. I kept getting messages that the server was overloaded and to try again later. I got no indication that the posts were made. Sorry.

Re: GI (Game Informer...not Grand Inquisitor)
The rec.games.interactive-fiction newsgroup is a good, free place to advertize the game when the time is right. They don't allow off-topic advertizing, but everyone there is very encouraging about any new amature-produced game. A lot of Zork fans too.

Re: RAAAAH! REALLY, REALLY pissed.
My guess, regarding the posting about a Zork 4 by Activision/Infocom is that it is just talk. We've heard these kinds of rumors before. But still, it's interesting.

Re: RAAAAH! REALLY, REALLY pissed.
An easy way to get to the r.g.i.f newsgroup is through the Google groups at http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=rec.games.int-fiction You can access this directly from your web browser and don't need a news server or anything like that. If this link doesn't work you ...
